So I really like Richmond guys...couldn’t tell? And one thing I REALLY like about Richmond is all the awesome stuff going on: bike races, hotels, mural projects. This is why it’s exciting to live, work and play here.
Each Friday, I’ll round up some of my favorite news from the week. This week I picked 5 articles:
1. The VMFA is really on a roll. Their figures the past 5 years are amazing. You would understand if you went to any of their amazing exhibits (hello we had a whole freaking Picasso exhibit here that NO ONE else on the east coast got, SUCK IT NEW YORK), also ya know the Friday happy hour. (via RTD)
2. I’m obsessed with all the murals around town. So when I saw the mural map posted, my obsession become organized (which I’m also obsessed with). I plan on utilizing the pending pleasant fall weather to ride my bike to some of these lovely art scapes. (via RMP)

My mural selfie (Addison and Cary)
3. Our friendly neighborhood, really cool shirtmakers, Ledbury interviewed people around the city for a neighborhood guide. It’s a cool read to get to know different pockets of Richmond. Thank you RVA News for putting it all in one place!
4. BizSense has a very interesting article on the impact of the bike race on the area hotels - great news y’all - people are comin’!
5. BizSense has another great article on one of Richmond’s historical gems - Hollywood Cemetery, who just launched an interactive site which you can use on your phone like a self guided tour (full disclosure, I work for Addison Clark and Hollywood is our client, yep that’s pretty cool too).
Alright, there you have it, my favorite news of the week. I obviously rely a lot on Richmond BizSense and RVA News for, well, my RVA news.
Have a wonderful long weekend. Drink some brews, grill some burgers, enjoy this “last” weekend of summer.
Cheers, AS
