So my BF is OBSESSED with noodle bars. I’ve literally been dragged around the city to every noodle bar possible. (Not that I care. This girl hasn’t met a carb she didn’t like.) So for his birthday earlier this month, I wanted to introduce him to the newest noodle bar in town - Shoryuken Ramen. What started as a little pop-up ramen shop, is now it’s own entity! It’s right on the VCU campus, don’t worry non students, it’s not infested. The interior is BEAUTIFUL. It has modern furnishings while keeping it’s vintage bones. The tile floor speaks for itself. The whole place is light and just lovely.

The Shoruken Classic
OK, but really the food is why we are here. My first trip I had one of the noodle dishes - Shoryuken Classic. So good. And it had seaweed in it. I’m convinced I could eat seaweed as a snack everyday. On my second trip I got steam buns. For real, these things had fried chicken in them! This is not a drill. Fried. Chicken. So simple, so good. A steamed dough, horseradish-ish sauce (I really don't know what it was) and fried chicken. Obsession. Get them. Don’t share.

Fried Chicken Steam Buns
Last, but NEVER least, they have an excellent happy hour! $4 wine y’all. And it includes a very okay prosecco my boyfriend deemed good enough for mimosas (It’s $4, I don’t complain). They also have very exciting cocktails. Their version of the Moscow Mule - the Spinning Piledriver Mule is really delightful!
Go enjoy some noodles, like now! #ramenrva
