The tried, the true, (possibly over done) gallery wall. Who cares - I wanted one. What I didn't want - to spend a ton of money. Remember I'm poor living in a 500 square foot apartment, I'm more DIY than Dior at this point in life. So, for less than $50, I got my gallery wall.
Materials Needed:
Frames
I chose mostly 8x11, but included a few other sizes to mix things up
I found mine at the Dollar Tree
White spray paint (or whatever color you want)
I used Valspar from Lowe's
You can use regular paint, but spray paint is so much easier, although not so precise (newspaper is recommended)
Pictures, prints, hanging art
I chose fun, colorful pictures of my friends, and of course Phoebe
For prints, I searched Pinterest for free printables, check out my board Artful for good sources
Other hanging art - most I already owned - a dream catcher from childhood, a small mask from a trip to Puerto Rico, a painted clay mask and my splurge (I lied it was a little more than $50) - the cow skull (my obsession) I bought mine from an Etsy shop (currently closed, but there are tons out there)
Nails
Hammer
Process:
Purchase all materials
Spray paint frames if neccessary - since I live in an apartment and don't have outdoor space, I lined my bathtub with newspaper, opened a window and did all my spray painting in there
Wait 24 hours for frames to dry (honestly this took me days, okay like a month) because I fit it in when I could
Get prints
Put prints in frames
Once you have all your prints and whatever else is going on the wall, it's time to decide the layout
I laid everything out on the floor, then played around with the ordering/spacing/overall layout
Start hanging - this is where it all changes! (I know I told you to lay it all out and order it, but honestly once things go on the wall it changes)
I started with one row at a time, figured out spacing as I went (I know every blog tells you to do the thing with paper, but goodness that seems like it takes awhile, and so not worth my time)
Once everything is up, see if you need to switch a few things around
VOILA, done! Wine time!
Cheers y'all!
So here is the final result:

Here she is!

My $1 frames! Certificates of acheivement are important y'all

My favorite spray paint from Lowe's. Easiest thing to use!

Spray painting in a bathtub.

I am very proud of my handy work, but I owe my boyfriend credit on putting SOME of the nails in the wall (the really high ones that someone of a 5'4" stature cannot handle).
What do y'all think? Does anyone else have a gallery wall. Share some pictures!
