Last week I posted about my personal resolutions for 2016. Some involved the city, others were self involved. So to honor my blog name, I have come up with RVA specific resolutions - my RVAlutions if you will!

Get to know neighborhoods besides the Fan. I admit it, I’m a Fan snob. I hate the idea of leaving my cozy little 1 mile radius. But this year, I promise to be better and explore ALL of Richmond. Some specifics include a food tour of Church Hill (Proper Pie, Stroops, The Dog and Pig Show all make my list of must try in 2016) and exploring the Arts District along Broad. Suggestions are welcome!
Go to the far out breweries. I’m sensing a theme of not venturing too far from home. I have yet to visit Lickinghole, COTU, Midnight Brewery or Triple Crossing. That changes this year. To be fair, I’ve tried beer from each!
Go to First Fridays - this will have to happen when it gets little warmer, but enough it enough, I need to go!
Spend more time at the river. Again this is a warmer temperature resolution, but I feel like it needs to be said. Summer comes and goes so quickly, I need to resolve to enjoy it at the river!
Along those same lines is to spend more time outdoors. Richmond has some awesome places to do that - Maymont, Byrd Park, Brown’s Island to name a few. Also any place I can bring my dog is a plus!
Shop local. This seems so easy, but I feel like we get caught behind our computers for the quick click. But why! We have one of the most awesome shopping areas in the world right in Carytown! I can’t tell you how much fun I have on a weekend afternoon just roaming through the shops.
Take advantage of the local music scene. With places like the Camel, the Broadberry and Balliceaux, I feel like there is always something to go hear.
