My Biscuit Obsession: An Ode to Early Bird Biscuit Company

Biscuits are great. From the Pillsbury Grands to the finest biscuits and gravy money can buy, it’s hard to argue that biscuits aren’t amazing. So when I saw that Early Bird Biscuit Company was moving into my neighborhood, I was pretty excited. My love for breakfast is deep and I was in need of more options, I love Lamplighter, but not the wait, Black Hand is fantastic, but only have so many breakfast sandwich options and I just don’t like the food at Starbucks. Not to mention, no one was serving biscuits.
Early Bird opened on a dreary day at the end of March. I got there 10 minutes early with extreme anticipation. I’d been following them on Instagram and was dying to try their deliciousness (however apparently too lazy to actually go there). So I was pumped, I was jazzed and so were other people. Like a line of them, someone had to come bounce at the door. A biscuit bouncer. How was this necessary? Ohhhhh the biscuits. That’s right! As soon as I tried them I understood! I’d wait in a line for these any day.

That first trip, I went all out: ham biscuit, biscuits and crazy (their beyond amazing version of biscuits and gravy) and a hot cross bun. I was hooked. I was in. I was a line devotee. And the problem is it’s two blocks from my apartment. I’ve been back many times to try other things and continue to get my favorites. I’ve had a chicken biscuit made with Lee’s fried chicken, an egg with herbs, sundried tomato and spinach sandwich and more. Plus they have a great coffee bar and other tasty treats in the pastry case.

If I haven’t convinced you yet, then I never will and you are missing out. If I have, go check out their Facebook page. They aren’t open everyday and you should follow them to know what their specials are everyday. Also that can get you in trouble, hence my walk with Phoebe took me to their front door this morning...
