So y’all it’s finally warm, we’re all a little sunburned from Memorial Day weekend and we are all super looking forward to what’s ahead after the official start of summer. So what’s going on this June that we can all look forward to? So much you guys, so much.
The Greek Festival starts this Thursday. I cannot wait to spend the weekend watching weird dancing, eating gyros, moussaka, baklava and drinking bottles of red wine.
Broad Appetit is also this weekend! How on earth did we get this lucky? Brb fasting until then.
Friday Cheers is still going strong every Friday night on Brown’s Island. I’ve gotta say nothing feels more like summer than dancing to tunes by the river each Friday night.
Fitz & The Tantrums is jamming out at the National on June 14. Not a bad way to spend an evening, not a bad way at all.
Blink 182 is back. I repeat Blink 182 is back! They will be in Richmond for the XL102 Big Field Day event at Innsbrook. It’s happening June 18. Feel free to pull out your fav outfit from high school in honor!
Also on June 18, Slide the City is coming to Richmond. It’s basically the biggest water slide ever running right through the center of our city.
Music seems to be a theme - The Valentine now has a music series “Music in the Garden.” It’s in their beautiful courtyard for the first three Thursdays this month. That sounds nice.
There are also a ton of yoga events happening (because everyone loves yoga). The first is King of Pops hosts an event every Tuesday at the Carillon.
Next, we’ve got Yoga and More in the Park Meetup at Chimborazo Park this Saturday, June 4.
And last, but not least, the Branch Museum is also hosting a yoga series on Sundays in June.
A bonus 11 is for the Thursday happy hours at the Hofheimer Building. It’s in Scott’s Addition, it’s new, it has a rooftop, there are drinks and apparently fireworks in view. Sounds great!
Phew, there’s a lot of food, music and yoga to get us all through our first true month of summer. I expect to see you all full, dancing and in downward dog this month.
