If you've lived in Richmond long enough, you know we are obsessed with all things Richmond and that means supporting local. Local beer, local shops, local food, the list goes on. One of the things I love about walking around Richmond are all the amazing local markets you can pop into. Here is a list of 5 of my favorites:
Libbie Market - one of the last vestiges of the famed Ukrops. They have the best pimento cheese, tomato pie, fried chicken, the list goes on...
Stock* (formally Harvest) - they have a full butcher shop, enough said. But really they also have a fabulous selection of local cheeses, beer and more.
Stella’s Grocery - you can get popular menu items right from the Stella’s menu (aka best Greek food ever), plus they offer a variety of ingredients for your pantry. Also prepare to have your sweet tooth satisfied with giant cookies, baklava and other goodies right there at the checkout (sneaky).
Strawberry Street - I'm a big fan of their wine and beer selection! It doesn't hurt that it's next door to 8 ½ pizza either!
Ellwood Thompson’s - the OG. A local markets list just isn't complete without Ellwoods. Although much bigger than anything else on this list, they still have the small market feel and have the best chocolate cake I've ever had (it's gluten free and to this day I don't understand how it's so good).
I may not do all my shopping at local markets (Aldi is my jam, because budget) but there are just things you can't get from the big boxes and for that I will always love my local markets.

A yummy sandwich from Stella's
*Fun fact, although a fabulous market in Richmond, imagine typing stock market in google to search for their website to link up...yea lots of numbers...that's what happens when you edit your post at 7 am.
