My week was pretty low key. I focused on getting to the gym at 6 am Monday through Thursday. I did still manage to have a few fun moments.
Dinner and Beer at Plaza Azteca
I met someone at one of the RMA networking events and we decided to grab some beers together. I enjoy meeting new people and finding out their stories. I also love beer and mexican food! Queso and fajitas, as well as good conversation made for a nice night.
RMA Friday Forum
The Retail Merchants Association holds a monthly forum, typically breakfast, that covers a variety of topics. This month the topic was “farm to table.” The had Joe Sparatta from Heritage and Southbound, Donnie Caffery from Good Foods Grocery and Amy Hicks of Amy’s Garden on the panel. They spoke about the local food movement in Richmond. From restaurants to farmer’s markets, they described the Richmond landscape and how it has really embraced local. There was even a table full of local farmers there.

Meal Prep
I spent a wild Friday night cooking up a storm in my kitchen. I made a vegetable and butternut squash soup, sweet potato fries and crockpot chicken chili. The soup was a recipe from Courtney and turned out great. The sweet potato fries need a little work, not terrible, not great. The chili was a recipe from RVA Fit Foodie.

Lunch and Ice Cream with Mom
This chilly RVA Saturday was spent eating warm She Crab soup with my sweet mother at Tarrant’s. It was my first time there. We had drinks, soup and I got a super delicious philly cheese steak. We then walked down the street a bit to Charm School Ice Cream. OMG so cute and the ice cream so good. Wonderful afternoon spent in the Arts District!
