Sticking with my goal of staying open and honest about my fitness. In April I went to the gym 11 times, did a free yoga in the park, got a fitness assessment, took long walks and also was lazy.

Fried Calamari from The Boathouse - one of the reasons working out is important

Here is my April journal:

April 3 - 30 minute walk in the am with Phoebe.

April 4 - Walked to and from yoga at the Carillon. 1 hour walk 1 hour yoga. The yoga was really nice. It wasn’t an intense workout but great for stretching.

April 5 - Alone at the gym, not super fun but I listened to The Zac Brown Band and that made it better. Did the standard abs, legs and arms. Oh but wait! Great news! I lost 6 pounds!

April 6 - No workout.

April 7 - Our Ad Club Richmond Show, with all the running around I feel like I worked out that day.

April 10 - Courtney is back and I get to do my typical evening walk with her again. It was so nice, Phoebe and I ended up walking for an hour.

April 11 - Back in the gym. Abs, legs and arms with Courtney and special guest, her husband, Ryan.

April 12 - Another day another 6 am gym visit! Proud of us because we had bocce last night.

April 13 - I could not go after 2 bocce nights in a row I was exhausted. I have my fitness assessment tonight at 5:15, so that can count!...Went to the assessment. It was interesting, informative and my BMI sucks. He clocked me in at xxx (this number was higher than what I get in the am) which makes sense, I normally weigh myself in the morning so that fluctuation is normal. Still not thrilled. After that I did some arm machine work with my sister and rode the bike.

April 14 - I had the day off so I went to the gym later than usual. I wanted to take the abs class at 10 am and got there a little early so I rode the sit up bike (I looked up what I needed to do based on my assessment of strengthen your hamstrings and lower back and abs). Then I took Absolution! It gave me really good ideas for my 6 am workouts.

April 15 - I did a yoga sequence for opening up my hips. This was one of my weaknesses I found out during my fitness assessment. It was about 20 minutes and felt pretty good. I think I’ll continue to use this and do that once a week at least.

April 16 - No workout but walked about 2 miles with the dogs.

April 17 - No workout.

April 18 - 6 am workout. Courtney and I decided to switch it up and focus on abs and legs today.

April 19 - 6 am workout. Arm day. We used the machines and the rope thing. Feels like jelly.

April 20 - Skipped the gym but did yoga at home.

April 21 - No gym.

April 22 - No gym.

April 23 - HAHA it’s Sunday. No chance.

April 24 - I actually went to the gym on a Monday. The weather was crappy so I decided to bike and take the Absolution class at Crunch.

April 25 - So we started BBG. It’s….much harder than what we were doing. (BBG is Bikini Body Guide)

April 26 - Walking is hard. BBG Day 2.

April 27 - Walking is harder. BBG Day 3.

April 28 - Should have done yoga stretches but I went out last night and stayed in bed extra long. My whole body hurts.

April 29 - Yoga stretches. Just the hip openers.

April 30 - Nothing.
