Life Lately

I haven’t had a free night in 20 straight days. I’m serious. I’m not complaining because I choose to be this active and social, but me time is very important.

My apartment hasn’t been vacuumed. My gym routine is slacking. I can’t finish any of my library books. Vogues are piled unread on my coffee table. My fridge is empty because I’m never home for meals. (Seriously, I opened it to offer to someone something the other day and was able to offer one White Claw, but just one.) My dog is certain all I do is sleep at home now.

September was a hectic month. I started the month in New York City with my mom and sister for a little weekend getaway. My birthday was in September and we went to the river to eat oysters and drink wine at Merroir. Bocce fall league started. Ad Club had events and meetings. Restaurant Club with friends. I’m working with mentors in the Thrive program. I had my 10-year high school reunion (that I was a chairperson for). Stop me if you think I’m crazy.

I swear I’m not! But that explains where I have been, what I’ve been doing and why my apartment might be a little messy.

October doesn’t look nearly as insane. I plan to get my apartment in order. I want to purge just about everything I see around me. I want to meal prep. I want to get a manicure. But that doesn’t mean I’m not active. I still have bocce, Ad Club and a social life.

The fall weather is perfect for bike rides to breweries in Scott’s Addition, drinking coffee and reading in the VMFA garden and long walks with Phoebe through The Fan. I love this time of year and promise myself to sit down for a minute and enjoy it.
