Recent Eats - October 2017

I’ve been extremely busy recently, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t enjoyed one of the best things about Richmond - the food! So, because you are all wondering, here is what I have been eating recently:

Pasture

We went to Pasture for Restaurant Club in September (my pick). I loved the vibe, and the food. The pimento cheese with crackers is definitely something to come back for.

Triple Crossing

Every Tuesday I trek down to Fulton to manage my bocce league. With that comes wonderful beers - TC is killin’ the IPA game recently - and awesome pizza from Billy Bread. I try to get the seasonal pizza each week so that I mix it up. I am never disappointed.

Boulevard, Burger and Brew

Every Wednesday our bocce crew heads to BBB after we play at Hardywood (see why I’m so busy) and get treated to a $5 (yep) burger made especially for bocce. This past week was a ham-b-q burger. It was a burger patty topped with sriracha bbq ham, cilantro and shredded carrots. So good.

This is the shrimp with chipotle aioli burger (not the ham-b-q)

Sabai

Honestly I didn’t eat anything here, but I had the best Old Fashioned. We went on a Sunday evening and they have a great happy hour. The Old Fashioneds were $5 and made so perfectly.

Sidewalk Cafe

A true Richmond classic. We went that same Sunday evening and housed some greek nachos. They are some of the most delicious nachos ever. One of my RVA favs.

The Galley

Owned by the same group as Sidewalk, Kuba Kuba and Stella’s, this is apparently a Southside staple. My friend recently moved over there and I joined her and her husband for dinner. It was so great. It definitely felt like a neighborhood spot. I had the pasta carbonara and a caesar salad. The portions were huge!

3 Monkeys

I met a friend for brunch the other day early at 3 Monkeys. We were the first there and just decided to sit at the bar and catch up. I got their breakfast burrito which was really good. Add sriracha and it’s a perfect breakfast.

Weezie’s

Possibly my favorite brunch spot in Richmond. I had the crabcake benedicts and homefries. If you know me, you know I love eggs benny and I can promise this is some of the best around. They also have great bloody marys.

Some happy campers at Sidewalk Cafe

All right, there you have it. Obviously I don’t meal plan and just eat at all these Richmond spots all the time. I never promised to be a health food blogger.
