The past week was a rainy, wet week in Richmond. I tried to make the best of it and not let it get in the way of doing things. (I do regret walking a mile in a torrential downpour. Should have taken an uber.)

Where I've been fueling up:

Triple Crossing for Tuesday bocce of course. They just released a bunch of new IPAs, like the Citra Triangles, which I really enjoyed trying.

Stella’s Grocery in Scott’s Addition. The new Stella’s spot is my new absolute favorite place. You can eat and drink in the grocery store. They have all the good things you want from Stella’s and it’s about 4x the size of the original version.

Can Can for our annual Advertising Club of Richmond board dinner. This is one of my favorite spots and I loved sharing it with my 15 closest Ad Club friends!

Not my best photography work, but this was a damn good hanger steak

I went for an early dinner on Sunday to Lalo’s. Sometimes you just need some queso and tacos and this was a quick way to do that.

What I've been reading up on:

Finished up Still Me by Jojo Moyes. This was a great, easy read. Check out my review here.

I also finished up Every Note Played last week. This book about a famous musician who gets ALS is not the sappy book you would think it would be. Read my review here.

This article about getting that perfect candle burn. I did not know it was best to let the wax pool go all the way to the edge for every burn.

What else:

The RMA Member Appreciation picnic was on Tuesday. This event is sponsored by the Retail Merchants Association here in Richmond, VA. The picnic was low key and had some awesome goodies - Mission BBQ, Gelati Celesti and a variety of great beverages.

Saturday evening I enjoy a beautiful engagement party for my friends getting married in July. The weather finally cleared up and we were able to enjoy both indoors and outdoors.

On Sunday with the rain officially gone, I headed out to Dominion Riverrock. This awesome RVA festival was going on all weekend and featured all sorts of fun things. I watched some of the kayaking and the dog jump. One of the coolest things I saw was the trick lining (tricks done on a slackline). I have serious respect for these individuals as I wouldn’t even be able to stay upright for 10 seconds on that and they were jumping all over doing some crazy tricks.
